Great discovery this tavern in the heart of Macerata … Just the night before my beautiful meal I had read on the internet an opinion of a boy who complained about the impossibility of eating good cuisine Marche spending little money; and I must say that I too began to lose hope.
E ‘must say that we were certainly not the first to report the Osteria dei Fiori, the restaurant is indeed positively reviewed by many food guides, from Slow Food to Gambero Rozzo.
We are located in an alley a few steps from the main square of the city. The veranda of the restaurant practically occupies the whole alley…
First note of merit – which to you will seem a little but I really appreciate – kindly let me sit at the table even if it is now half past two. Attitude that is repeated even in the evening for the after theater. Just warn. My first positive feeling is confirmed by an interesting menu that offers many dishes that make the Marche famous at the table: the legendary rabbit in pork (less easy to find than I thought), pork fillet in cooked wine, the super typical Vincisgrassi (the lasagna of Macerata!), The tagliulì peeled with sauce, broad beans and bacon, bruschette with the Marche ham, ciauscolo and pecorino of the area, ice cream with sapa (red wine concentrate).
I must say that L’osteria dei fiori does not offer a particularly suitable summer menu, on paper it is very substantial dishes, as tradition Marche wants. Yet they are so well made that it worth a visit in summer as well. Eating at the Osteria dei Fiori I had the feeling that the flavors had been dosed in the right way. Nothing innovative… To paraphrase a great musician I would say: “If we want to innovate we have to go back to the old flavors. This will be the real innovation “. And this thought, which fits well with contemporary culinary thought focused on the search for tradition, it seems to me that at Osteria dei Fiori you find good expression. If we add to these good flavors a courteous service, prices from taverns and a nice environment, well, it does not seem to me little at all… Definitely worth a visit!
