The pizzeria Da Michele may not be the best pizza in Naples, but it is certainly the most famous. Now that they filmed a Hollywood (the film Eat, Pray and Love) within its walls, with Julia Roberts sitting among the Michele’s marble tables, the success of Da Michele seems, if possible, also increased.
As you can see in the picture below, at 12:20 PM Michele is full of people and the admission is timetabled by an efficient system of numbers distributed outside the Pizzeria.
Da Michele you eat in a hurry, the pizzas arrive within minutes and you are not allowed to lose time deciding what to order.
Anyhow place the order won’t be difficult since the menu is very basic: the classic margherita or marinara (with tomato, garlic, oregano and olive oil). Four euro the normal size, five the giant on. That’s all.
Da Michele you will sit wherever it happens. Do not be afraid if you will point to sit next to someone else. The service is fast and when presented the bill the waiters will underline MANY TIMES that the tip is not included in the price.
In short, a lot of folklore, low prices and very good pizza.
Customers are mixed, many, many tourists and some Neapolitan.
If the queue Da Michele is not tolerable or perhaps you want to try some other type of pizza, we propose other pizzerias, all in the area and just as good as Da Michele (click here).
